(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The construction of the second phase of the Central Expressway will commence from the Alawwa-Giriulla road. The event will get underway under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The main event will be organized at Kudagammana. The second phase of the Central Expressway stretches 39 kilometres from Mirigama to Kurunegala, while the four lane road has a width of 23 meters.
Interchanges will be established at Mirigama, Nakalagamuwa, Malpitiya, Pothuhera and Kurunegala. The Ministry of Highways said all construction is carried out by local companies and will be completed by 2019.
