(UDHAYAM, BANGALORE) – Footage of a teenage victim of a road accident in Karnataka’s Koppal town pleading with unresponsive onlookers has shocked India.
Bystanders, who were more concerned with filming the incident rather than assisting the victim, failed to call for medical assistance resulting in the eighteen year old victim, Anwar Ali, bleeding to death.
Ali had been run over by a state bus in Koppal while he was riding his bike to work and had been lying in a pool of blood for nearly half an hour before medics arrived on scene. Doctors had said that he would have most likely survived had he received timely medical care, Indian media reports.
