Upul Chaminda granted bail

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Upul Chaminda Kumarasinghe, who was in remand custody over an alleged fraud incident of Rs. 112 lakhs that was provided for proposed Negombo lagoon development system has been granted bail.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara ordered today to release the suspect on two surety bails of Rs. 1 million each and a cash bail of Rs. 25,000/-.

The suspect is to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department every Sunday morning. The case will be re-called on March 10.
