UTV | COLOMBO – Special Task Force has detected an abandoned armoury of LTTE following a tip-off in the Vishwamadu area in Mullaitivu.
The area was searched after obtaining a court order.
736 mortars, 6 hand grenades, 2 Rocket Propelled Grenade launchers, several parts of T-56 weapons, 80 anti-aircraft ammunition and several grenades were among the arms cache.
Police said this was the largest arms cache found in the Puthukudiiruppu area.
The detected arms cache will be defused by the STF.
