Tea prices increases

UTV | COLOMBO – Brokers say that due to a reduction in production and depreciation of the rupee, Sri Lanka tea varieties were able to fetch a good price at this week’s auction.

4.6 million kilos of tea was put on auction this week’s, it was a considerable decline from last week’s 6.4 million kilos that were auctioned.

The brokers said almost all the tea varieties fetch a price of Rs. 50 higher than that of last week’s prices.
