(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Attention has been focused on implementing the devolution of power beyond the 13th amendment when preparing new constitution.
A member of the Proposed Constitutional Council has stated to the media that the experience gained when implementing 13th amendment would be used for this purpose, Udhayam News learns.

Meanwhile civil society representatives met with President Maithripala Sirisena on the 8th.
Chairman of the Public Representations Committee on Constitutional Reform who attended the meeting said that the president emphasized on bringing awareness of the new constitution among all the people and if necessary it will be best to go in for a referendum.
Meanwhile, Leader of the House Minister Lakshman Kiriella recently mentioned in parliament that they are ready to go in for a referendum with the help of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) about the new constitution.
