(UTV|COLOMBO) – Warner Bros. Pictures’ all-female spin-off film “Ocean’s 8” nabbed the top spot at the domestic box office this weekend – debuting to $41.5 million. That beats out “Ocean’s Twelve” to become the highest opener of the franchise to date.
Internationally the film brought in an additional $12.2 million in 16 markets, bringing its worldwide total to $53.7 million. “Solo: A Star Wars Story” continues its slide with $15.2 million at the domestic box office and another $11.3 million internationally, pushing its total to just $176.1 million domestically and $312.2 million worldwide (including the US).
“Deadpool 2” came in third with an additional $13.65 million domestically, bringing its domestic total to $278.6 million and worldwide to $655 million. Familial horror film “Hereditary” was fourth with $13 million – the highest opening weekend for the independent distributor.
