United Sri Lanka by 2018- PM

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the aim of the government is to have a united Sri Lanka by 2018, the year in which the country celebrates it 70 years of Independence.

Speaking at an event held in Colombo today Premier Wickremesinghe said political factions should conduct its affairs devoid of racial conflict adding that these factions should unite with the government in its efforts to bring forth national peace.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the two political parties will continue with the power struggle however called on all factions to stand united for the development of the country.

The Premier said Sri Lanka should unite like we were in 1948, and take the country forward.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe speaking as the event said, “The Girl Guides and Scouts have the responsibility to say we are Sri Lankan’s; once we have solved this issue, moving forward will not be a problem. Our politics need not divide, it isn’t about religious differences or racial differences, it’s about whether the government solves the issues pertaining to economic affairs and social affairs or what the polices are that we should take.”
