(UTV|COLOMBO) – Netflix has acquired most of the worldwide rights to “Illang: The Wolf Brigade,” the live-action remake of 1999 anime classic “Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade”.
Famed South Korean director Kim Jee-woon (“I Saw the Devil”) helms the film which is set in 2029 and follows a special forces squad which aims to quell a terrorist sect that opposes the formation of a joint government between North and South Korea.
Jung Woo-sung, Han Hyo-joo, and Gang Dong-won co-star in the film which Netflix has obtained all rights to excluding Korea where it gets a theatrical release at the end of this month.
No premiere date on the service has yet been announced though is highly likely after the San Sebastian festival in September.
