Lunar Eclipse on July 27

(UTV|COLOMBO) The world will see the longest lunar eclipse in a century over the night of July 27, and the early hours of July 28. This phenomenon will also take place alongside the Blood Moon.

The lunar eclipse will also be visible in Srilanka, and this will be a ‘Blood Moon’ as well, where the Earth’s satellite takes on a reddish tinge.

The totality, or the point at which the shadow of the Earth completely covers the moon, will last one hour and 43 minutes.

The lunar eclipse will begin at 10.45 pm on 27 July and will be visible to Sri Lanka till 4.58 am next morning.
