(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Eight suspects have been arrested for attempting to travel to New Zealand illegally.
The suspects were arrested in Negombo when they attempted to leave for New Zealand by boat.
Police said the suspects, aged between 23 and 42 years, are residents of Negombo, Marawila, Kalmunei and Mullaitivu.
The suspects will be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today. Further investigations are conducted by the Katana Police.
