(UTV|COLOMBO) – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the trailer for “Constantine: City of Demons,” a full-length, R-rated animated feature film based on the acclaimed DC animated series from CW Seed which itself is based on the famed “Hellblazer” comics.
Produced initially as animated shorts, the new release has a runtime of 90 minutes with over an hour of never-before-seen content. A decade after a tragic mistake, family man Chas (voiced by Damian O’Hare) and occult detective John Constantine (voiced by Matt Ryan) set out to cure Chas’s daughter Trish (voiced by Laura Bailey) from a mysterious supernatural coma.
With the help of the mysterious Nightmare Nurse, the influential Queen of Angels, and brutal Aztec God Mictlantecuhtli, the pair just might have a chance at outsmarting the demon Beroul to save Trish’s soul. Along the way, he’ll come face to face with arch-nemesis Nergal.
David S. Gover and Greg Berlanti are executive producers on the project which will come to DVD, Blu-ray, Ultra HD Blu-ray and Digital HD on October 9th. Doug Murphy helms the film which is rated R for bloody violence/gore, disturbing images, and some sexual content.
