(UTV|COLOMBO) – “Fifty Shades” sequels helmer James Foley has signed on to direct the prison escape movie “Alcatraz” for Thunder Road and Hollywood Gang Productions reports Collider.
The story follows a bank robber sent to the prison who attempts to escape from the inescapable island. The story is inspired by Frank Morris who helped lead three other prisoners escape from ‘The Rock’ in June 1962 and are still on the U.S. Marshall Service’s ‘Most Wanted’ list over five decades later.
The escape has been depicted before in the iconic 1979 Clint Eastwood film Escape From Alcatraz. “The Grey” and “Death Sentence” scribe Ian Mackenzie Jeffers is penning the script while Basil Iwanyk and Gianni Nunnari will produce.
