(UTV|COLOMBO) – Patrick Wilson (“The Conjuring,” “Aquaman”) is set to join Luke Evans and Woody Harrelson in Roland Emmerich’s big-budget World War 2 action film “Midway” for AGC Studios and Centropolis Entertainment.
Based on the true story of the Battle of Midway which was a major turning point in the Pacific theatre of World War 2, the story chronicles the heroic and harrowing exploits of the soldiers and aviators who achieved the unbelievable to turn the tide of the war.
Wilson will play Edwin Layton, a United Sates (US) Navy rear admiral and key intelligence officer during World War 2. Evans is playing Naval Cross winner Commander Wade McClusky. Wes Tooke penned the script with filming to begin 16 August.
