(UTV|COLOMBO) – Filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho is reportedly working on a follow-up to the acclaimed 2016 South Korean zombie action thriller “Train to Busan”.
AllKPop (Via Bloody Disgusting) reports that the film is going by the working title “Peninsula” and will: “revisit the same zombie virus that was seen in the original movie, except this time the focus will be expanded to the entire Korean peninsula.”
The first film sees a workaholic businessman who accompanies his daughter on a train ride to see her mother at the same time a malevolent virus breaks out, turning the populace into ravenous, milk-eyed zombies. The father must team up with a gaggle of survivors to fight the dead and protect his child.
Filming on the sequel aims to begin in the first half of next year, and casting has yet to begin.
