(UTV|COLOMBO) Jana Balaya Colombata’ protest rally of the Joint Opposition which is scheduled to be held in Colombo today (05).
The Joint Opposition (JO) is expecting over 200,000 participants for their protest.
The Joint Opposition rally causes any inconveniences to the public police will take action under the Police Ordinance, Sri Lanka Police said.
Meanwhile, Cinnamon Garden, Welikada and Colpetty police stations had sought court orders to bar the protest rally being held in their respective police divisions.
However, courts had rejected these requests stating that the police can use their power in case of need.
