(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A body of a 7-year-old child was found in the Balapitiya Sea. A resident of Payagala, the child was a victim of the Katukurunda boat accident.
Another body of a man was found on the Maradana beach in Beruwala. He is 25 years old and a resident of Karandagoda in Beruwala.
The death toll of this incident has now risen to 14. Two more individuals are still missing.
Katukurunda Boat Tragedy: Another Body Found
(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Body of a person who went missing following the Katukurunda boat tragedy has being recovered.
The body was found by a group of fishermen and currently being placed on the beach near the Beruwala lighthouse.
Search operations are underway to locate the other three missing individuals.
Boat carrying about 40 people capsized in rough seas as it was on its way to a Church Festival in Kalutara.
