(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sony Pictures has begun development of the real-life casino robbery feature “Storming Las Vegas” with acclaimed author Dennis Lehane to pen the script.
Lehane (“Shutter Island,” “Mystic River”) is adapting John Huddy’s 2008 novel which looks at a series of daring Las Vegas casino robberies masterminded by Cuban-born Jose Vigoa over a sixteen-month period.
Vigoa and his crew evaded Police as they stole millions from some of the biggest players on the strip through robberies of armoured trucks and casino heists. Antoine Fuqua was previously slated to direct when the project was set up at Summit Entertainment.
