England’s tour of Sri Lanka: Test and ODI squads named

(UTV|COLOMBO) – England have named a 16-man Test squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

Opener Rory Burns, Kent batsman Joe Denly and Warwickshire fast bowler Olly Stone are included in the Test squad for the first time, reports said.

Burns has been called up as a replacement for Alastair Cook, who retired after the Test series win against India.

Joe Root’s side play Sri Lanka in three Test matches. The first Test starts on 6 November, followed by the second Test on 14 November and third Test on 23 November.

England also play five one-day international (ODI) games against Sri Lanka.
